China eyes more cooperation with France under Belt and Road
BEIJING -- China called for more cooperation with France under the Belt and Road Initiative as Vice President Li Yuanchao met here Wednesday with chief of the Constitutional Council of France Laurent Fabius.
Noting China-France relations are at a historical high, Li called on both sides to stick to the right direction guiding the development of bilateral ties.
Li hoped the two sides will accelerate alignment of development strategies and strengthen communication and coordination in major international issues such as climate change, so as to boost their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Stressing the French side places great importance on the Belt and Road Initiative, Fabius said his country is willing to jointly push for the implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change and combat global challenges with China.
