Aburasoba apparently date back to 1950s Tokyo, but even in Japan they have never become a mainstream food like ramen or udon. Now they seem to be gaining in popularity as more people look to the health benefits of noodles with less fat and salt.

The owners of Imulakain say it is the first aburasoba specialty eatery in Beijing, and they are keen on expanding in China as they introduce this refreshing and tasty Tokyo dish to more people.
