25-year-old takes photos for villagers for free
A young man has been taking family photos for villagers for free during the Spring Festival since 2015 in Shidian county, Baoshan, Southwest China's Yunan province.
The 25-year-old, Yang Dongqing, has taken over 200 family photos and 1,000 personal photos in four villages for the past three years.
Yang studied advertising design in Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Photography is his hobby.
Yang's hometown is in the mountainous area. The biggest wish of his grandpa, to take a family photo, remained unfulfilled as they were too poor. Yang's family still carries that regret.
"Many people living in the remote mountainous areas don't get a chance to take a photo in their whole lives. I want to change that," said Yang.
Other volunteers joined in with Yang in 2016. Their campaign was named "Free Photographing of Family Pictures".
Yang's kind deed was recognized and praised by the local government. He said he would continue to take photos for villagers for free and organize a family photo show after 10 years.
