President Xi meets May in Beijing

President Xi Jinping met with visiting British Prime Minister Theresa May at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on Thursday.

May arrived in Beijing on Wednesday and held a China-Britain annual meeting between heads of government with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the Great Hall of the People. This is May's first official visit to China since she took office in 2016.
The two countries signed a dozen of deals on areas including trade, finance, healthcare and smart city on Wednesday.
May, who kicked off her three-day visit to China in the city of Wuhan on Wednesday, is accompanied by leaders of over 50 British business and commercial organizations.
China and Britain agreed to embrace a "Golden Era" for bilateral relations in October 2015.
