Students from the Confucius Institute at Rwanda University gave a Chinese martial arts performance and sang Chinese songs at the ceremony.

Distinguished guests from the State Council Information Office of China, CIPG, the Ministry of Sports and Culture of the Republic of Rwanda, the University of Rwanda, Chinese enterprises in Rwanda and other organizations attended the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition. The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Xia, editor-in-chief of China Pictorial Publications under CIPG.

The Beautiful Rwanda, Beautiful China photo exhibition is part of the Beautiful World, Beautiful China series launched by CIPG. Based on its advantages in multilingual and multimedia publications and its book, magazine, website and photographic resources, CIPG has joined hands with various partners to organize a series of cultural exchange activities under the theme of "Beautiful World, Beautiful China" in an effort to help more foreigners know and understand contemporary China.

These activities include cultural forums, photo exhibitions, illustrated book series and mutual visits between photographers. Already, CIPG has sponsored a number of photo exhibitions under Beautiful World, Beautiful China, pairing China with other countries, including Japan, Russia, Myanmar, Hungary, South Korea, Poland, Serbia and Switzerland.

A press agency dedicated to introducing China to foreign countries through books, magazines and websites, CIPG is the country's oldest and largest professional international communication organization.
