All 70 families in the village, including 18 living in poverty, made a total investment of 1.55 million yuan in the construction of the scenic spot. Some villagers even took part in the construction work.

Due to their efforts, an over 2,000-meter sightseeing route in the Paoma cave officially opened to the public during the 2018 Spring Festival holiday. In that period, the cave welcomed over 50,000 visitors, which brought revenue of more than 500,000 yuan and lifted all the 18 poverty-stricken family out of poverty.

"About two thirds of the limestone cave remains untouched so we still have room to grow and we will invest more to develop tourism," said Liao Yuyu, the director of the village committee.
