Minnesota-based company 3M launched its PM2.5-protection respirators designed specifically for kids aged 7-12 during the ongoing China International Import Expo in Shanghai on Thursday.

The brand-new respirators combine 3M electrostatically charged non-woven filter media technology to ensure efficiency, while also incorporating tailored designs to make them better-fitting and more comfortable based on children's facial features, according to the company.

It uses a 3D sponge nose form, helping to bring the mask closer to the face while ensuring a secure yet comfortable fit.

"3M is one of the very first foreign-invested enterprises registered in China, which is now its largest market outside of the United States," said Stephen Shafer, President of 3M Greater China Area. "For the past 34 years, we have been a beneficiary of China's reform and opening-up and its rapid economic development, and we are especially honored to participate in the first-ever China International Import Expo, held on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up.

3M, a science-based diversified company, gathered all five of its business groups, including Industrial Business, Safety & Graphics, Health Care, Electronics & Energy and Consumer during the expo, showcasing a variety of new products and solutions, and forward-looking innovative technologies.

The new vehicle air purifier, formaldehyde removal car mat and earmuff product were also introduced during the expo.
