Xiao Yang's latest film hits theaters

Fantastic comedy Airpocalypse will open across Chinese mainland on Dec 21. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

But it is Airpocalypse, a comedy which combines Chinese myths and social issues, that marks Xiao's bid to improve his storytelling skills.

During a recent interview with Chinese reporters, he says he worked on the film for three years.
