Xi stresses police loyalty, competence, discipline
BEIJING -- President Xi Jinping has stressed the need to enhance the political loyalty of the police force, strengthen them through reform and technology, and run them with strict discipline, at a national conference on public security.
The police must fulfill the duties and tasks of the new era entrusted to them by the Party and the people, said Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.
The police should ensure people have a stronger sense of security, and create a safe and stable political and social environment to secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, deliver on the two centenary goals and realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation, Xi added.
The meeting was held in Beijing on Tuesday and Wednesday.
