The opening ceremony for the 8th China-Russia-Mongolia Food Culture Festival was held in Ulaanqab, a city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 20, marking the start of a ten-day feast.

This is the third time in a row that Ulaanqab has held the event and organizers invited many representatives from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI countries) to participate in the event. Many catering-related activities will be held to promote food culture exchanges between BRI countries and promote the development of cross-border cultural tourism between China, Russia and Mongolia.

At the opening ceremony, hundreds of local residents participated in activities making traditional local food such as oat noodles and milk tea. And a tasting event for Ulaanqab's local foods and specialties was also held to demonstrate the city's long history, culture, and unique customs.

According to local media reports, a conference on attracting investment and a series of activities to promote local tourism, ecofriendly culinary ingredients, and catering will also be held during the ten-day event.

Furthermore, renowned Chinese and foreign experts, as well as people with experience in the catering industry, will be invited to participate in an international summit forum on the development of Ulaanqab's catering industry.
