A grand philatelic exhibition featuring the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China kicked off in this Guangdong provincial capital on Friday, demonstrating the great achievements China has achieved in the previous seven decades.

The stamp show will last till Oct 7, providing opportunities for visitors in the National Day holiday.

Xu Jianzhou, deputy director of All-China Philatelic Federation, said philately, with its various forms and rich connotations, has become a unique cultural event that is widely and deeply loved by the Chinese people and the philatelic exhibition will certainly help build a platform to further promote cultural exchanges and cooperation among Guangdong province as well as the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.
