Making life for visually impaired easier

Editor's note: White cane safety day is celebrated on Oct 15 every year. White cane helps people with visual impairment to move around safely, scanning the environment for obstacles. At present, there are more than 17 million visually impaired people in China, or one in 80. Here are some suggestions to help them navigate this world better.

1. Return the blind road to them

China has the longest and most widely distributed paths for visually impaired in the world, but many of these paths are badly designed, damaged or occupied.
