Should euthanasia be allowed?

Ratfink (Australia)

I think euthanasia should be legalized and available to patients and those suffering from conditions that bring forth an intolerable quality of life. In Australia and many other countries patients can request not to be resuscitated when seriously ill or with a protracted major illness.

Safeguards need to be placed in law to prevent the manipulation of the system by greedy relatives, business partners and the state, for example. Furthermore methods would need to be devised to deal with those who are in such a condition that they are unable to make a decision.
