Editor's note: Even though the World Health Organization named the novel coronavirus pneumonia COVID-19, some US politicians continue to link the virus with "Wuhan" or "China" . As the number of confirmed coronavirus cases rise globally, shouldn't we end such biased attacks and make a joint effort to fight the pandemic? Readers share their opinions.

To say the virus originated from China is definitely unfair. The virus originated from wild animals, and a coronavirus attack can happen anywhere where there is wildlife and animal-to-people interaction. China has been struck first with COVID-19, just as the MERS-Cov struck first in the Middle East and the swine flu in North America. This is a natural event that occurs throughout history and will happen again. However, the unfortunate thing is there are political quarters which try to score political points amidst human suffering. That is one of the most inhumane things any human could do.
