A COVID-19 vaccine developed by the University of Hong Kong is expected to begin human trials in July, according to He Yiwu, who leads the HKU vaccine team. However, he told China Daily on Monday that border control could slow down the vaccine manufacturing process as the city must rely on mainland manufacturers. He called for a green channel to facilitate mainland-Hong Kong collaboration in vaccine development.
