ACCRA - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Tuesday annulled the 2019-20 Ghana Premier League season after a long-drawn-out meeting in the capital, Accra.
The decision to terminate the current football season is a result of the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Executive Council is clothed with powers to decide on all matters that hinge on "unforeseen contingencies and force majeure."
Football was suspended in the West African country in March this year amid the spread of COVID-19 here.
Ghana lifted a partial lockdown in April but football did not see a return despite the easing of some restrictions.
Ghana had reported over 17,000 cases by Tuesday.
