Editor's note: The Ministry of Education is soliciting public opinions on a draft guideline on the employment and management of foreign teachers. According to the guideline issued on Tuesday, China will establish a national platform where education institutions will be able to register, report and seek information about foreign teachers. A credit system will also be created to record both their good behavior and violations of regulations and laws. The qualifications for foreign teachers have always been a hot topic in the backdrop of China's burgeoning English teaching market. Readers share their opinions.

We lack a credential system for those foreign teachers. At present, whether they are excellent or not, they can't be recognized unless for a period of teaching. And before you know their nature, a contract has been signed so it's hard to fire the bad ones.

We need an evaluation and credential system. All the foreign teachers should be registered in the first place. Every job they have taken should be recorded and those records must be taken by professionals. The evaluation of their employer towards them also should be taken down, so when they seek another post, a complete and trust worthy file could lay before the employers.
