China's top 500 companies saw their total revenue reach 50.5 trillion yuan ($7.21 trillion), up 11 percent on a yearly basis, over half of the country's GDP that broke through 99 trillion yuan last year, according to a list co-released by Fortune magazine's Chinese edition and China International Capital Corporation Wealth Management on Monday.

The revenue threshold for this year's Fortune China 500 ranking was near to 17.8 billion yuan, up nearly 10 percent from a year earlier. The top three companies were same with last year, namely China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec), China National Petroleum Corporation and China State Construction, with 2.97 trillion yuan, 2.52 trillion yuan and 1.42 trillion yuan in revenue, respectively, and 57.59 billion yuan, 45.68 billion yuan and 41.88 billion yuan in profits.

Chinese e-commerce giants JD and Alibaba both saw improved rankings at 13th and 18th, respectively.

These 10 companies saw their total profits at about 1.7 trillion yuan last year, accounting for nearly 40 percent of all the 500 companies' profits.
