Editor's note: China announced its pilot program on digital currency this month in four cities and some of the sites for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Shenzhen, Chengdu, Suzhou, Xiong'an are the cities where the trials are being held. There is no specific timetable for its widespread use. Are you looking forward to an entirely cashless society? Readers share their opinions.

Jack Henderson

It's not bad at all to be engaged in a cashless society. Nowadays with the mobile networks upgraded and the subscribed package fee dropped, people can pay for everything wherever there is a QR code. If it becomes reality that being cashless prevails, it also saves resources and energy. Everyone's money seems digitized, from a bank account and personal wallet, however cash will still exist and play an important role in our life. Maybe in the future everything will be digitized like what's depicted in those Hollywood blockbusters. Cash will withdraw from our life eventually. Maybe in the future human beings will go back to their original trading style, things in exchange for things.
