Xiamen makes things easier for expats
A one-stop service window was opened recently in Xiamen, Fujian province, offering foreigners in China more convenience in applying for work and residence permits. The window is the first of its kind in the province.
The one-stop window was created by the visa section of the local public security department, allowing eligible high-skilled foreigners to apply for the two permits at a single place. It also provides document delivery services, aiming to help simplify things for applicants.
A service window catering to A-grade expatriates was opened in August in Xiamen. The newly-opened window broadens the service to individuals in either A or B tiers.
The new service window is part of a larger effort to create a better working and living environment for expatriates, the local authority said.
