Brands from Macao expand to Guangzhou
A number of top catering brands from the Macao Special Administrative Region will soon be introduced to the booming Nansha district of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, according to the local government.
The brands will located in an innovation base created last year by the local government for young people from Macao and Hong Kong to start their businesses in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The catering businesses will be operated by young people from Macao, who have already been working in the industry in the SAR for years.
The projects were part of 24 key investment agreements valued at 70 billion yuan ($10.81 billion) signed on Monday in Nansha. They range from cooperation between Guangdong, Macao and Hong Kong to smart city construction and strategic emerging industries.
"The projects will help form a growth engine to drive the local economy, especially in emerging industries," said Dong Ke, head of Nansha district.
