TIANJIN -- The northern Chinese port city of Tianjin saw a cross-border e-commerce decline from January to February over COVID-19.

According to the municipal commission of commerce, the city reported over 3.84 million foreign trade orders via cross-border e-commerce in the first two months of this year.

Tianjin received over 3.83 million declared import orders in the period, down by 9.25 percent year-on-year. Sales reached 631 million yuan (about $97 million), a decrease of 6.52 percent, said the commission.

Tianjin reported 11,200 export orders during the period, with sales volumes reaching 654,200 yuan, it said.

The commission vowed to implement more trade facilitation measures and diversify customs clearance models to continue developing cross-border e-commerce trade.
