Baidu's robotaxis in Beijing from Sunday

Baidu will launch paid driverless robotaxi services in Beijing from May 2, the Chinese tech giant said on Thursday, making it one of the first companies in the country to offer autonomous driving robotaxi services to paying users. Baidu's driverless Apollo Robotaxi, to be launched in Beijing's Shougang Park area, will operate without a safety driver behind the steering wheel, the company said, adding that users can hail and pay for a robotaxi ride through the Apollo Go App.

Kweichow Moutai net profit rises 6.6% in Q1

Leading liquor maker Kweichow Moutai earned a net profit of 13.95 billion yuan ($2.15 billion) during the first three months of this year, up 6.57 percent on a yearly basis. During the January-March period, its revenue rose 11.74 percent on a yearly basis to 27.27 billion yuan, the company said in its quarterly report filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The liquor maker said late March that it has set its revenue growth target for this year at around 10.5 percent compared with last year.
