Ex-Real Madrid midfielder Fidalgo joins America on permanent deal
MEXICO CITY - Club America have exercised an option to sign former Real Madrid midfielder Alvaro Fidalgo on a permanent deal, the Mexican club said on Wednesday.
Fidalgo, who joined the Eagles on loan in February from Spanish second division side Castellon, will be tied to the Mexico City outfit until 2025.
"Hello Americanists. I'm very happy to announce that I am officially an Eagle and that I will be with you for much longer," the 24-year-old said in a video posted on the club's social media account.
Fidalgo made 16 appearances during his four-month loan spell and provided five assists. The new Liga MX season is due to begin on July 22.
A former Spain U16 and U17 player, Fidalgo made one first-team appearance for Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey before joining Castellon in August 2020.
