Editor's note: The news that a 29-year-old Tsinghua University graduate was hired as a live-in nanny has sparked heated online discussions. Described in the ad as being fluent in Mandarin and English, she expects a monthly salary of 35,000. Some say it is a waste of talent, while others believe she is free to choose a career she loves. Readers share their opinions.

The people hiring her want the best pre-school education for their baby, that's all. There are homeless graduates from top schools such as Yale, Harvard and Notre Dame in Western nations during this pandemic. Life is not smooth sailing. Attaching a stigma to a degree from a name school is petty-minded ignorance that must be dispelled from society. Nannies can of course be Tsinghua graduates and be proud of it.
