In 2016, he took a photo of resident of Nanshan village in Haiyuan county who was transporting fresh water using a donkey.
It's a sight that can't be seen nowadays. Ma wanted to record the great transformation of people's lives. Eventually, he bought a car, as well as new cameras and lenses.
As an amateur photographer, Ma had a lot to learn, and he was voracious. He improved his skills by joining different interest groups and listening to lectures.
