Over a dozen people managed to lift a bus and rescue a biker whose hand was trapped after a traffic accident in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, on Thursday according to Nanfang Daily.

CCTV video filmed in Haizhu district of Guangzhou on March 31 shows the accident happened around 6 pm, when a driver of an electric bicycle ran into the rear of a bus leaving its stop.

One of the biker's hands was reportedly caught beneath the bus' rear left wheel.

Nearby witnesses quickly gathered around the bus to lift it and more joined in as time went by, including taxi drivers, couriers and passers-by.

The biker was successfully freed and sent to a hospital immediately.

Fortunately the biker wasn't seriously injured and only suffered a hand fracture.

The video received widespread attention and praise after being uploaded onto the internet, with netizens showing appreciation for the collective effort and expressing their gratitude toward those who care for others.

"People kept coming in to help. It was all about saving the person first," a witness at the scene said.

In an official statement released on their microblog account, the Guangzhou traffic police saluted those who participated in the rescue.

"It was your righteous actions that won valuable treatment time for the injured," the statement read.

Electric buses used for public transportation in China generally weigh more than 10 tons.
