China has been actively promoting the connection of its market regulation rule with international rules, especially on metrology, standardization and certification of products, as the latter three have played a great role in facilitating global trade, said a top official of the country's market regulator.

"Efforts have been made to promote the coordination of standards and mutual recognition of assessment results between China and foreign countries, which greatly drove the development of foreign trade," said Pu Chun, deputy head of the State Administration for Market Regulation, on the World Metrology Day that fell on Friday.

In terms of standardization, the consistency rate of China's standards in major consumer goods with international standards has greatly improved. The rate for nine key areas, including household appliances and consumer electronic products, rose from 81.45 percent in 2016 to 96.15 percent now.

The conversion rate of international standards in important industrial fields, such as equipment manufacturing, consumer goods, and next-generation information technology have exceeded 90 percent, which strongly supports the integration of domestic and foreign trade, he said.
