How can the US stop their cycle of gun violence?

An 18-year-old who is not allowed to buy cigarettes or liquor but could go into a gun store and purchase a firearm. How absurd is this logic? There are 50 Senators that receive large campaign donations from the NRA who lobbies against any forms of gun control, especially universal background checks. How many innocent kids must die for the laws to be changed? Enough is enough.
