Combat exercises continue near Taiwan

The People's Liberation Army's Eastern Theater Command on Monday has continued to conduct combat exercises around Taiwan, the command said in a statement.
The drills, which were organized in the air and waters around the island, mainly focused on the capabilities of the PLA's joint anti-submarine operations and sea strikes.
The command has been conducting drills surrounding Taiwan since late Tuesday after the arrival of United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the island.
