Shijiazhuang loans buses to city in need

A total of 50 buses for public transport have been mobilized from Shijiazhuang, Hebei province to its neighboring city Baoding, which is in need of the vehicles for citizens' activities, according to a report by news portal The Paper on Friday.
Citing a worker from Shijiazhuang's public transport company, the report said the transferred buses were not in use in Shijiazhuang, and therefore there would have no affect on the city's public transport services.
The buses arrived in Baoding on Thursday morning.
How long the buses will provide service in Baoding and other follow-up arrangements are yet to be decided and will depend on Baoding's need, the worker said.
Many bus lines in Baoding had been suspended due to the shortage of operating funds and the withdrawal of a large number of pure electric buses from operation, the report added.
The total number of buses in the city has decreased from 1,300 at its peak to 333 at present, so the routes had to be reduced, an employee from Baoding Public Transportation Co was quoted as saying by a report from cnr.cn.
