Suzhou forum focuses on use of nuclear tech in medical industry


The Second International Nuclear Technology Application Industry Development Forum opened on Thursday in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, focusing on the use of nuclear technologies in the medical industry.
Hosted by the China Isotope and Radiation Association, the two-day forum, themed "Empowering Nuclear Technology to Build a Better Future Together", has more than 400 attendees from nine countries and several international organizations, including representatives from the China Atomic Energy Authority, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the International Irradiation Association.
Participants are expected to share their developments in nuclear technology applications and communicate with their peers, according to the organizing committee.
At the opening ceremony, the 2023 China Nuclear Technology Application Yearbook was released. The document depicts the status quo of the nuclear industry in China and related statistics.
There would be four seminars during the forum, with topics ranging from the research and application of nuclear technology in tumor treatment to radiation processing technology.
In addition, an exhibition is being held outside the forum's venue to display new products and technologies in the field.
