Senior official calls on Taiwan businesses to foster cross-Strait cooperation, promote peaceful development

Song Tao, the head of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, issued a call to action to Taiwan business leaders on Thursday, urging them to play a role in promoting peaceful development and deeper economic integration across the Taiwan Strait.
Addressing a symposium attended by over 300 mainland officials and representatives from 152 Taiwan business associations, Song emphasized the mainland's commitment to supporting Taiwan businesses and fostering their growth. He stressed that the mainland will "always respect, care, and create benefits for Taiwan compatriots," expanding cross-Strait exchanges and facilitating high-quality development for Taiwan enterprises.
Echoing Song's message, Lee Cheng-hung, president of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland, highlighted the "unprecedented opportunities" presented by the Chinese mainland's economic development plans. He encouraged Taiwan businesses to actively participate in cross-Strait economic cooperation and seize the opportunities for growth.
