Anticipating the age of 90 in the coming year, Wang Meng, one of the most revered literary figures in the country, says he hopes to write more and better works.

The author of many noted titles expressed the wish at the opening of Writing With Vitality and Thinking Without Limitation, an exhibition to mark his seven decades' devotion to literary creation at the National Museum of China, on Thursday.

The monthlong exhibition surveys Wang's life and work. Born in Beijing, he has witnessed the development of the People's Republic of China, and he has turned his concerns with people into a productive world of literature, authoring noted books such as Long Live the Youth.

He was the culture minister in the 1980s and after retiring from his position, he has continued to write extensively till today.

Wang received the prestigious Mao Dun Literature Prize in 2015 and four years later, the medal of People's Artist.

Another exhibition dedicated to his literary achievements is going on at the National Library of China.
