Shanghai Disney Resort announced on Sunday that a new Spider-Man-themed attraction is coming to Shanghai Disneyland, the first major telling of a Marvel story at the park.

The attraction will be centered around the Marvel Super Hero Spider-Man and will feature a roller coaster experience.

Josh D'Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, the Walt Disney Company, unveiled details about the new attraction during Disney's global fan expo — D23 2024: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

He also unveiled two new renderings of the attraction at the Horizons — D23 Disney Experiences Showcase.

Early this year, Shanghai Disney Resort announced plans for a major new area adjacent to the recently-opened Zootopia-themed land at Shanghai Disneyland. The Spider-Man ride will anchor that expansion.

In addition to the Spider-Man attraction, Shanghai Disney Resort is working on its third Disney-themed hotel adjacent to the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.
