The Balikun Grasslands
Located in the Hami prefecture, in northeastern part of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the Balikun Grasslands are known as the second grandest grasslands and are a glamorous tourist attraction. They are situated in the Balikun Basin and boast rich resources of pastures, livestock and pinewoods. Nourished by the snowmelt of the eastern Tianshan Mountains, the grasslands outline a natural gallery adorned with lakes, springs, streams and forests.
The Balikun Grasslands contain a useable area of more than 13,300 hectares. Visitors can fully enjoy themselves and take the time to appreciate the charm of indigenous Kazak customs – especially their fantastic annual summer games!
