3 dead as Typhoon Kong-rey hits Taiwan

Typhoon Kong-rey has resulted in the death of three people in Taiwan as of early Friday morning. This comes following its landfall in southeastern Taiwan's Taitung city on Thursday afternoon, China Media Group reported.
CMG cited Taiwan media reports as saying that, on Friday morning, a man in Taipei was fatally injured when a fallen power pole struck him while he was riding a bike. The man passed away after being taken to the hospital.
Additionally, a person in New Taipei City and another in Nantou county died in accidents caused by the typhoon on Thursday.
