China boosts opportunities for people living with disabilities

China has reached fruitful results of improving the living quality of disabled people by boosting their employment and enabling them to get easier access to barrier-free services.
The China Disabled Persons' Federation said so far, the nation has about 85 million people living with disabilities, and among them, the number of employed certified disabled individuals reached 9.126 million. Also, more than 100,000 disabled students have been admitted to colleges and universities so far, as reported by the China Central Television on Tuesday.
The nation has channeled efforts to perfect rehabilitation and aid systems for children living with disabilities in recent years. According to the federation, over 443,000 children with disabilities have benefited from the aid system so far this year.
Also, about 1.18 million households with financial problems and with family members of severe disabilities have been redesigned or renovated with accessible facilities so far, the federation said.
