Changsha man 'retires' from blood donation

Liu Haisha recently donated blood for the 281st time at the Changsha Blood Center. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Under the law, people aged 18 to 55 are eligible for blood donation, and healthy people who have donated blood multiple times without side effects can continue until 60.

Liu made his last donation at Changsha Blood Center on Friday, where center staff celebrated his birthday with him.
