Based on the novel of the same title by French author Victor Hugo (1802-1885), the musical Les Miserables was created by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, and produced by Cameron Mackintosh. Since its premiere at the Babican Centre in London in 1985, the musical has toured 442 cities in 53 countries. With productions in 22 languages, the musical has received more than 130 million audiences.
The touring staged concert's spectacular edition was made for the 40th anniversary of the musical. The original production in English features an orchestra of more than 65, with a core cast featuring a great number of celebrated Les Miserables guest stars.
