Rescue pup Lightening Jr steals hearts in quake-hit Shigatse

A search and rescue dog from Chongqing has captured online attention thanks to its rescue efforts across several villages in Lhatse county, Shigatse of the Xizang autonomous region. Photos of the dog, named Lightening Jr, posing with local children have been widely shared.
On Jan 7, a destructive 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Shigatse's Dingri county, resulting in 126 deaths and affecting around 61,500 residents, local authorities said. Rescue teams have rushed to the affected region for relief work.
