The 15th National Games, set to kick off in November, will serve as a pivotal opportunity for the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), said NPC deputies and CPPCC members during the two sessions.
It is the first Games jointly hosted by Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong province. It also marks the first time that Hong Kong and Macao will host a national-level sports event.
Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress and vice-president of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, emphasized that the event should act as a driving force for the GBA to attract further global capital, technology and talent.
