Guangxi chairman under investigation for discipline, law violations

Lan Tianli, chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, was put under investigation for serious violations of discipline and law, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, the country's top anti-graft bodies, announced on Friday.
Lan, 62, a Zhuang ethnic group member, graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He became deputy director of the Guangxi Science and Technology Department in 1998.
In 2011, Lan became vice-chairman of the autonomous regional government, rising to chairman in 2021.
