Fudan University launches 100m yuan hospital fund with Fosun


Fudan University has established an affiliated hospital development fund through a 100 million yuan ($13.86 million) donation from the Shanghai Fosun Foundation on Saturday, supporting medical innovation and academic research.
The fund aims to reach an initial scale of 500 million yuan by 2027, marking the centenary of the founding of Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, and a final target of 1 billion yuan by 2030, aligned with the Healthy China 2030 initiative.
The signing and launching ceremony was held at the Yifu science and technology building in Fudan University, with attendees including Fudan's outstanding alumni, Guo Guangchang, chairman of Fosun International, Wang Qunbin, co-chairman of Fosun International, and Fudan University President Jin Li.
Supporting the comprehensive development of Fudan's affiliated hospitals, the fund will advance medical sci-tech upgrades, talent training, infrastructure improvement and public health services.
The establishment of the fund also reflects the deep bond between Fudan University and its alumni, highlighting a long-term commitment to the advancement of medical education and public healthcare.
Fudan University leads in medical education reform and innovation in China, with its affiliated hospitals ranking among the top medical institutions nationwide, playing a critical role in disease diagnosis, treatment and medical research.
