Famous food delivery poet gets opportunity to reach more readers

Wang Jibing, the widely-known food delivery poet, has been proposed as the vice-president of Xuzhou Reading Promotion Association on Sunday, according to an announcement by the Xuzhou Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Paper reported.
"I will mainly work on reading promotion activities," Wang said. He emphasized that this new part-time role will not interfere with his job as a delivery rider.
Born in November 1969 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, Wang works as a delivery rider and writes poems during his spare time. He has gained popularity since his presence on the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, earning him the nickname, "Spring Festival Gala poet."
Wang's life story is one of resilience and perseverance. Growing up in poverty, he dropped out of middle school at the age of 14 and was sent by his father to practice martial arts. Then, he embarked on a long journey in making a living, working as a builder, garbage collector, street peddler, and food deliveryman in the past decades.
To date, Wang has written about 6,000 poems and published four poem collections. His writing is simple yet real, capturing his emotions and essence of his experiences.
Writing is a habit that complements his life. "With poetry, delivering food is less arduous and I'm not just a delivery rider," he said. "I'm deeply experiencing life and traveling."
His dedication to literature will now reach more readers through his work in reading promotion materials.
