China's largest and most efficient gas turbine set to launch

The largest and most efficient gas turbine in China has been successfully hoisted into place at the Anji power plant in Zhejiang province, said its operator, China Energy Investment Corp (CHN Energy), on Friday.
This marks the official start of the installation phase for the turbine, laying the groundwork for its future power generation, it said.
The Anji power plant project utilizes the world's most advanced gas turbine technology, achieving a maximum efficiency of 64.15 percent.
The project is scheduled to commence operations by the end of 2025. Once both turbines are fully operational, the plant will have a maximum annual power generation capacity of 7 billion kilowatt-hours.
This output is estimated to meet the annual electricity demand of 6 million residents and save approximately 670,000 metric tons of standard coal annually, it said.
