Nestle China and China Eastern Airlines have unveiled the "Yunnan Single-Origin Drip Bag Coffee" on Monday, marking a stride into the premium coffee market and enhancing customer experience for air travelers.

Starting June 16, 2025, China Eastern Airlines will introduce a non-stop route connecting Shanghai Pudong Airport with Geneva, making it the first Chinese carrier to operate this vital link.

Operating four flights per week with an Airbus A359 wide-body aircraft, the route aims to facilitate cultural and economic exchanges between China and Europe. Passengers will have the opportunity to savor the rich flavors of coffee from the Yunnan province.

Lyu Hang, head of the professional culinary division of Nestle Greater China, said this co-branded drip bag coffee is a first for the company. The product has incorporated traditional Chinese design elements and selected top seasonal ingredients.

Nestlé's deep-rooted presence in the Yunnan province dates back to 1988, when it chose the region for coffee cultivation. Over the decades, Nestle has established the coffee agronomy service department, which has provided extensive training to local farmers, enhancing skills across the coffee supply chain.

This initiative has seen Nestle agronomists cover a 1.34 million kilometers, equivalent to circling the globe 33 times, to conduct essential training and develop best practices in coffee cultivation.
