Morocco hosts concerts to mark UN Civilizations Dialogue Day


From May 29 to 30, a series of "Conversation and Connection" events was held in Morocco to mark the first United Nations International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations.
At the invitation of the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the China Cultural Center in Rabat organized two young Chinese Pipa players, Song Ziying and Kuang Honglin to perform at the 26th International Oud Festival in Tetouan, Morocco, together with performers from various countries including Morocco, Egypt, Bahrain, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, Spain and Australia.
At the opening ceremony of the International Oud Festival in Tetouan on May 29, classic compositions such as Shimian Maifu (Ambush from All Sides),Shengshengman (Slow Slow Song),Buy Me a Rose and Kangding Love Song,as well as a new original folk music piece titled Hi! Moment, were performed.
On the morning of May 30, the China Cultural Center in Rabat organized a lecture themed on dialogue between Pipa and Oud at the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Tetouan, which fully leveraged the influence of the festival.
On the evening of that day, the two Pipa players performed at the cultural exchange event titled "the Light of Inspiration" held in the Fnideq Cultural Center.
The "Conversation and Connection" series of events was not only a high-level international cultural exchange, but also a cultural feast linking ancient and modern times, as well as transcending geographical boundaries.
