Body of Beijing official lost in flood found
The body of Yin Chunyan, Party secretary of Sunhugou village in Beijing's Huairou district, has been found following an intensive search, Beijing Radio and Television Station reported on Thursday.
Rescuers discovered her remains on Wednesday afternoon near Baihewan in Baihebei village. Local authorities have set up a funeral committee to handle the arrangements, according to the report.
Yin and her husband, Cai Yongzhang, were swept away by floodwaters on July 26 while helping to evacuate villagers. Cai's body was recovered on Aug 4, about 300 to 400 meters downstream from the site of the incident.
Yin's last message, sent to a village work group at 11:20 pm the day she went missing, urged colleagues to implement "red alert" flood-control measures.
At a press conference on July 31, Huairou district officials confirmed the couple's disappearance, praising them for their dedication during the emergency.
