China's air passenger trips total 440 million in first 7 months
BEIJING -- China's air passenger trips totaled 440 million in the first seven months of 2025, increasing 5.6 percent year on year, data from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) showed on Friday.
The sector's overall transportation turnover was 93.15 billion tonne-kilometers in the first seven months -- up 11 percent from the same period in 2024.
More than 5.65 million tonnes of cargo and mail was transported by air during the period, which was up 14.7 percent year on year.
In July alone, the sector's transportation turnover increased 8.6 percent year on year to 14.8 billion tonne-kilometers, its number of passenger trips increased 3.9 percent to 71.82 million, and its cargo and mail transportation volume rose 15.3 percent to come in at 867,000 tonnes, according to the CAAC.
The data also showed that Chinese airlines handled a record 7.09 million passenger trips on international routes last month -- a year-on-year increase of 15.7 percent.
